1. I return to my placement school and most of the children remember who I am and are excited to see me. I also remember most of their names!

2. I go on a train for the first time in months. I love buying my ticket then sitting back and watching the world rush by.

3. I love the exclusive feel I get when me and my boyfriend go to a free advanced screening of 'Juno'.

Sunday, 27 January 2008

1. Wandering the aisles at the supermarket and filling my basket with lots of lovely fresh fruit for the coming week. I buy some reduced strawberries for the first time in months and can't wait to chop them up on my cereal in the morning.

2. Feeling free to read and catch up on blogs with no work hanging over my head while my boyfriend watches football on TV.

3. I come across this post in the archives of a newly-discovered website and feel hopeful that there are people out there who are proud to be themselves and who feel beautiful in their own skin. I start to think of the ways in which I am beautiful and add them to the comments.

Saturday

1. Taking a package to the post office so it can be dispatched to the other end of the country.

2. Driving on the motorway in the dark after a lovely evening in the pub with my grandad and admiring the landscape. We pass a town all lit up and I imagine the insides of the illuminated houses, the people living their lives within.

3. Me and my boyfriend have a proper chat over a J20 and a pint in the pub. We see each other every day but there are so many petty distractions; uni assignments, TV, books, the internet. We rarely actually spend quality time together, and doing so makes me realise how much I love him.

Friday, 25 January 2008

1. As I wait in the bus queue, I notice a bird's nest high up in the trees, swaying in the wind.

2. I complete a pop-up card in D&T and feel a nice sense of achievement.

3. Me and my boyfriend sit with a cup of tea reading and discussing the paper together.

1. At university we are given the task of devising and eventually creating an interactive numeracy display. My group comes up with lots of great ideas and the enthusiasm flows!

2. I call the teacher at my placement school for an idea of the topics they're due to cover next week and she kindly clues me in.

3. I start brimming with ideas for activities to do with the children next week and I feel confident for the first time in a long time.

3. Receiving positive feedback from my tutor about a piece of work I wasn't confident about.

Tuesday, 15 January 2008

1. As part of our Science module we get the chance to experiment with magnets. I love feeling the forces at work between two magnets repelling each other and I'm fascinated to see the huge paperclip chain one magnet attracts.

2. Singing along to upbeat music in the car and not caring who sees me.

3. Tucking into a steaming bowl of beef and veg stew as it rains outside.

Monday, 14 January 2008

1. Handing my essay in on time after battling rush hour traffic on the way to university and facing a broken printer once I got there.

2. Being given a star-shaped sticker from a Year 2 girl's sticker book.

3. Having a relaxed Chinese meal with my boyfriend.

Sunday, 6 January 2008

1. Being woken up early in the morning by the sounds of my waking sister calling for her daddy.

2. A fried egg sandwich for dinner, made for me by my wonderful dad.

3. Watching Sense & Sensibility on BBC1 - I've never read the book but I love Jane Austen's work and I'm in awe of the costumes and the setting.
