1. Amidst the hustle and bustle of last-minute Christmas shoppers, a young boy and girl sit on a bench playing Christmas carols on their trumpets.
2. Driving past houses lit up with Christmas lights, I notice a tree which fills the entire window of one living room.
3. The checkout lady in Sainsbury's smiles and hopes I have a good Christmas.
1. Taking a break from Christmas shopping to sit alone in a cafe with a warm drink and a magazine.
2. Buying presents for loved ones and feeling a sense of efficiency and completeness.
3. Sitting down after a day of shopping/walking and feeling the immense relief in my legs!
I decided to start this blog after stumbling across the original Three Beautiful Things. The past few months have been difficult for me, and I hope that focusing on the simple things that make me smile every day will make me really appreciate the good things around me.
Yesterday:
1. My boyfriend's cat snuggling up close to me as she sits on my knee, purring and dribbling all over me as I stroke her ears.
2. Meeting my boyfriend from work for lunch and drinking a hot chocolate with marshmallows, whipped cream and a flake in a cute cafe in town.
3. Buying a bundle of fruit from the market and chatting to the shopkeeper as she rings up my items.
Today:
1. Having Christmas dinner a week early with my uni friends - pulling crackers, wearing silly hats and laughing at bad jokes.
2. Receiving a message from a friend who hasn't been in touch for a while.
3. A simple kiss from my boyfriend.
1. Waking up at 10.20am - it's so nice to lie in every once in a while and feel properly rested.
2. Coming in from the cold to a nice bowl of warm potato & leek soup with buttered toast.
3. My boyfriend snuggling up next to me as I sit on the bed with my laptop. He squeezes beside me and buries himself into a tiny space like a little rabbit.
